Getting the Word Out Concerning Your Event on TheZ

One of our goals here at TheZ is to partner with the Upstate Community to help “give a voice to the vision.” Everyday we give churches and other non-profit organizations air time at no charge, to get the word out concerning your event. There are 2 options available for getting your information recorded and on the air. First, it is required we have proof on file that you are recognized as a non-profit organization and in good standing in the state (a letter on your organizations letterhead will suffice). Christian Schools & Colleges promoting enrollment and/or Open House as well as ministry organizations which offer fee based services must use option #2.

Option #1:  Record the announcement yourself at no charge.  It will air 2 to 3 weeks as time allows. Please understand that space is limited and fills up quickly.  You may choose one of the following:
     A) Make an appointment to come to our studios to record your spot.  Please call 3 to 4 weeks in advance to insure availability. Bring your prepared 28-29 second script typed on your organization’s letterhead (*See below) with you. Depending on the amount of information you need to share for your event, you may be allotted a 58 second spot.
*** Small children are not allowed in the production room.  Please do not bring them with you unless you bring another adult to supervise them  you are recording.

     B)  Send to us a “dry voice only” 30 second spot on CD or email your spot on a MP3(128) format to sfowler@TheZ.com. All of our announcements are produced with the highest quality standards. We reserve the right to refuse any announcements submitted to us on the basis of content or quality. Please include a copy of your script (*See below), printed on your organization’s letterhead.

Option #2:  Enhanced services are available for increased on-air exposure for a nominal fee.  Both 30 & 60 second spots are available.  For more, contact Britt Dillard at (866) 441-HITS (4487).

Option #3:  THIS OPTION DOES NOT GUARANTEE AIR TIME.  You may mail your information to The Z at 250 E Mail St, Spartanburg, SC 29306 to be considered for air play between songs. You may also fax your information to us at (864) 699-1767 in the attention of  Stephanie. 

**When writing your own script, remember that you will be talking to an individual. No skits please. Radio is a person-to person communication! Be conversational and “real” as you write your information. Speak with enthusiasm. Keep in mind also that 30% of our listeners do not yet claim a personal relationship with Christ. Avoid asking questions, just make statements. Ticket/admission prices can not be given on the air.  You may say “For ticket information call…” Also, remember that our target audience is 13-33. Try to make your announcements relevant to the lives of our listeners.
